My name is Pedro, and I am a performance designer and assistant art director, working across Film, TV, Theatre and Opera. I hold an MA in Performance Design from the University of Leeds and a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Seville.
I transitioned from architecture to performance design and film, driven by the possibility of imagining and creating new spaces and environments to be experienced. Volunteering with local theatre companies and collaborating on experimental theatre projects, later entering the film industry with roles as an Assistant Art Director and Draughtsperson.
Recently, I’ve been commissioned by the National Trust (2023 & 2024) to design a Tudor Christmas immersive experience at Hardwick Hall (Derbyshire). Previously I worked as an Assistant Art Director on Sister production's Black Dove and Apple TV's Slow Horses. And prior to that, I worked on Tiger Aspect's ITV period drama Three Little Birds as a Draughtsperson.
I frequently collaborate with opera designers Charles Edwards and Madeleine Boyd as a draughtsperson. Some of these productions include La Calisto (Teatro La Scala, Milan), Don Carlos (Metropolitan Opera, New York), Norma (Teatro Real, Madrid), A Little Night Music (Leeds Playhouse), Alcina (Saarbrücken Theatre, Germany), Otello (Grange Park Opera), Fedora (Metropolitan Opera, New York).
